Jun 20, 2024

Are you struggling to navigate your 3D scene in Blender? Have you accidentally moved the camera or the 3D view and can't seem to get it back to its original position? Don't worry, in this tutorial, I'll show you how to easily reset the camera and 3D view in Blender.

Resetting the Camera View:

1. To reset the camera view in Blender, simply press 'Numpad 0' on your keyboard. This will instantly switch your view to the camera's perspective, allowing you to see exactly what the camera sees.

2. If your camera has been moved or rotated and you want to reset it to its default position, select the camera object, press 'Alt+G' to clear its location, and then 'Alt+R' to clear its rotation.

Resetting the 3D View:

1. If you want to reset the position and rotation of the 3D view back to its default state, press 'Numpad 5' to toggle between perspective and orthographic view, and then press 'Numpad 5' again to switch to the default top orthographic view.

2. You can also press 'Home' on your keyboard to bring back the 3D view to its default position and scale.

Using the View menu:

1. In the top left corner of the 3D view, you can find the 'View' menu. Here you have options to 'Frame Selected' which focuses the view on the selected object, or 'Align View' to align the view to the selected object.

2. You can also use the 'View' menu to snap the view to specific angles or orientations, helping you quickly reset the view to a desired position.

By mastering the ability to reset the camera and 3D view in Blender, you'll have more control over your workspace, making it easier to navigate and work on your projects.
