How to Add Texture to Objects in Blender

Jul 08, 2024

Hey everyone, today I'm going to show you how to add texture to objects in Blender. Texturing your 3D models can really bring them to life and make them look more realistic. So, let's get started! First, open up Blender and import the object you want to add texture to. Then, go to the 'Shading' workspace. Here, you'll see the 'Shader Editor' where you can add and adjust textures. Next, select the object you want to texture and go to the 'Material Properties' tab. Click on 'New' to create a new material for your object. Now, go to the 'Shader Editor' and click on 'New' to add a texture node. You can choose from a variety of textures such as image textures, noise textures, or even procedural textures. Once you've added the texture node, connect it to the 'Base Color' input of the material node. This will apply the texture to the object's surface. You can also adjust the scale, rotation, and position of the texture by adding a 'Mapping' node and connecting it to the texture node. This allows you to fine-tune the placement of the texture on your object. Finally, you can further enhance the realism of the texture by adding a 'Bump' node to create the illusion of surface details. Connect the 'Bump' node to the 'Normal' input of the material node to give your object some depth. And that's it! You've successfully added texture to your object in Blender. Don't forget to experiment with different textures and settings to achieve the look you want. I hope this tutorial was helpful. Thanks for watching and happy 3D modeling!
