How to Embed 3D Models in Google Slides

Jul 12, 2024

Are you tired of the same old static images and text in your Google Slides presentations? Spice things up by incorporating 3D models to add depth and interactivity to your slides. With the latest update, Google Slides now allows you to seamlessly embed 3D models directly from your Google Drive, making your presentations more engaging and dynamic. Here's a step-by-step guide to help you embed 3D models in your Google Slides presentations.

Step 1: Upload Your 3D Model to Google Drive

The first thing you need to do is upload your 3D model to your Google Drive. Make sure the file is accessible and set to the appropriate sharing settings for your presentation.

Step 2: Open Your Google Slides Presentation

Open the Google Slides presentation where you want to embed the 3D model. Select the slide where you want the 3D model to appear.

Step 3: Click on Insert > Image

In the top menu, click on 'Insert' and then select 'Image' from the dropdown menu.

Step 4: Choose the 3D Model from Google Drive

In the 'Image' window, click on the 'From Drive' tab. This will allow you to access your Google Drive to select the 3D model file you want to embed.

Step 5: Select the 3D Model File

Navigate through your Google Drive folders and select the 3D model file you previously uploaded. Click 'Select' to insert the 3D model into your presentation.

Step 6: Adjust the 3D Model Size and Position

Once the 3D model is inserted into your slide, you can resize it and reposition it to your desired location. Click and drag the corners to adjust the size, and drag the model to move it around the slide.

Step 7: Present Your 3D-Enhanced Slide

Now that your 3D model is successfully embedded, go ahead and present your slide. The 3D model will be interactive, allowing you to rotate and view it from different angles, adding a whole new dimension to your presentation.

By following these simple steps, you can easily elevate your Google Slides presentations with immersive 3D models. Whether you're showcasing a design concept, a product prototype, or an educational model, incorporating 3D models can enhance the visual appeal and captivate your audience's attention. Try it out and take your presentations to the next level!
