How to Embed a 3D Model in Google Slides

Jul 18, 2024

Are you looking to take your Google Slides presentation to the next level? Embedding a 3D model can make your presentation more interactive and engaging. Here's how you can do it:

1. Create or Find a 3D Model: The first step is to create or find a 3D model that you want to embed in your presentation. There are many websites where you can find 3D models for free or purchase them.

2. Convert the 3D Model to a Supported Format: Google Slides supports embedding 3D models in .glb and .gltf formats. If your 3D model is not in one of these formats, you can use a 3D modeling software or online converter to convert it.

3. Upload the 3D Model to Google Drive: Once you have the 3D model in a supported format, upload it to your Google Drive. Make sure the sharing settings are set to 'Anyone with the link can view' so that it can be embedded in your presentation.

4. Get the Embed Code: Open the 3D model file in Google Drive and click the three vertical dots in the top right corner. Select 'Open in new window' and then click the three vertical dots again and select 'Embed item'. Copy the embed code that appears.

5. Embed the 3D Model in Google Slides: Open your Google Slides presentation and go to the slide where you want to embed the 3D model. Click 'Insert' in the top menu, then 'Image', and select 'By URL'. Paste the embed code from Google Drive and click 'Apply'. Your 3D model will now be embedded in your slide.

By following these steps, you can enhance your Google Slides presentation with an embedded 3D model to make it more interactive and engaging for your audience. Try it out and see the impact it can have on your next presentation!
