How to Hide and Unhide Objects in SketchUp

Jul 23, 2024

If you're a SketchUp user, you know that sometimes your 3D model can get cluttered with too many objects. Luckily, SketchUp provides a simple way to hide and unhide objects to streamline your workspace and improve your workflow.

To hide an object in SketchUp, simply right-click on the object you want to hide, and select 'Hide' from the context menu. You can also use the keyboard shortcut 'H' to quickly hide the selected object. Hiding objects can be useful when you want to focus on specific parts of your model or when you're working on complex scenes with many components.

Once you've hidden objects, you can easily unhide them whenever you need to. To unhide a hidden object, go to the 'View' menu, select 'Hidden Geometry', and then click on the object you want to unhide. Alternatively, you can use the 'Unhide' tool from the context menu by right-clicking in the workspace.

By mastering the hide and unhide feature in SketchUp, you can keep your workspace clean and easily manage complex 3D modeling projects. So next time you find yourself overwhelmed with objects in your SketchUp model, remember to use the hide and unhide function to stay organized and efficient.
