How to Remove All Transformations in OBJ in Blender

Oct 06, 2024

Hey Blender artists! Have you ever imported an OBJ file into Blender and found that it has some unwanted transformations applied to it? In this article, I'll show you how to quickly and easily remove all transformations in an OBJ file using Blender.

First, open Blender and go to the 'File' menu. Select 'Import' and choose 'Wavefront (.obj)'. Navigate to the location of your OBJ file and click 'Import'.

Once your OBJ file is imported, you may notice that it's not positioned or scaled the way you want it. To remove all transformations, including position, rotation, and scale, follow these steps:

1. Select the object by right-clicking on it in the 3D Viewport.

2. Press 'Ctrl + A' to bring up the 'Apply' menu.

3. From the 'Apply' menu, choose 'All Transforms'.

That's it! You've now removed all transformations from your OBJ file. Your object should now be back to its original state without any unwanted changes.

If you want to export the clean OBJ file with the removed transformations, simply go to the 'File' menu, select 'Export', and choose 'Wavefront (.obj)'. Give your file a name and click 'Export' to save it.

By following these steps, you can ensure that your OBJ file in Blender is free from any unwanted transformations, making it easier to work with and manipulate as needed.

So there you have it! With just a few simple steps, you can easily remove all transformations in an OBJ file in Blender. I hope this article has been helpful to you. Happy 3D modeling!
