How to Enable Google Maps 3D View

Oct 16, 2024

If you want to explore the world in a more realistic way, Google Maps' 3D view feature is a great way to do so. In this article, we will guide you through the steps to enable 3D view on Google Maps.

1. Open Google Maps: To get started, open the Google Maps app on your device or visit the Google Maps website on your computer.

2. Search for a Location: Type in the location you want to explore in the search bar at the top of the screen. Once the location is displayed on the map, you can proceed to the next step.

3. Enable Satellite View: In order to enable 3D view, you'll need to switch to satellite view. On the bottom right corner of the map, you'll find a square box with a 45-degree angle. Click on this button to toggle the satellite view.

4. Tilt and Rotate the Map: Once in satellite view, you can tilt and rotate the map to view the location in 3D. On the bottom right corner, you'll find a compass icon which allows you to change the orientation of the map. Use your mouse or touch gestures to adjust the angle and direction of the map.

5. Explore in 3D: You can now explore the location in 3D by zooming in and out, panning, and rotating the map. This feature allows you to view the area from different angles, giving you a more realistic sense of the surroundings.

Additionally, you can also use Google Earth, a separate application, to explore locations in 3D. Google Earth offers more advanced 3D features and allows you to navigate through the terrain with more control.

In conclusion, enabling 3D view on Google Maps provides a more immersive and detailed way to explore locations. Whether you're planning a trip, researching a new area, or simply wanting to see the world from a different perspective, 3D view can enhance your mapping experience.
